Verb ‘aller’ (to go) Usages

Hello , my friend

Prepositions can be confusing sometimes, especially with the verb ‘aller’ (to go).I will explain this verb in details in this article. Focus with me

Aller à..
We always use ‘aller à’ in front of city.

Ex.:
Tu vas à Milan.
Nous allons à Berlin.
Je vais à Paris.
Elle va à New York.

Aller au..
We use ‘aller au’ in front of a masculine country.
How do you know the country’s gender?
Masculine countries begin with a consonant and end with anything but ‘e’ (Mexique is an exception, because what French would be without exceptions?)

Ex.:
Il va au Portugal.

Ils vont au Panama.
Elle va au Brésil.
Nous allons au Guatemala.

Aller en..
We use ‘aller en’ with feminine countries. Feminine countries usually begin with a vowel and/or end with an ‘e’.

Ex.: Vous allez en Allemagne.
Nous allons en République dominicaine.
Elles vont en Australie.

Je vais en Colombie.
Ils vont en Italie.

OR
Non, je n’ai pas encore lu ce livre.
